Sharon Ufberg, DC
Sharon Ufberg, Doctor of Chiropractic, welcomes the opportunity to be a
member of the integrative health care team at the Continuum Center for
Health and Healing. As a senior chiropractor with 24 years of clinical
and professional leadership experience, Dr. Ufberg has worked
extensively in the collaborative interdisciplinary health care model.
Her treatment philosophy is holistic. Listening and communicating with
her patients is central to her way of practice. Dr. Ufberg's
comprehensive assessment and individualized clinical approach
incorporates diverse therapeutic hands-on techniques including spinal
manipulative therapies, myofascial release, cranial/ temporal mandibular
joint (TMJ) mobilization, mind body practices, and lifestyle and
exercise recommendations. Dr. Ufberg is certified in exercise
rehabilitation.
Dr. Ufberg is the past Chair of the California State Board of
Chiropractic Examiners. She is a senior consultant for American
Specialty Health Network and St. Paul/Travelers Insurance Companies. She
is a monthly columnist for IntegrativePractitioner.com and has been
featured in various media forums including Fox TV News, Martha Stewart
and WBAI radio and We Heal NY magazine.
Dr. Ufberg founded EmeryBay Backcare and Rehabilitation and Boardwalk
Chiropractic in Northern California. She obtained her Doctor of
Chiropractic degree from Southern California University of Health
Sciences.
Collaborative Care: Acupuncture and Chiropractic
The Center proudly offers a program of collaborative care within the
integrative specialties of acupuncture and chiropractic. This team
approach offers the patient an opportunity to see two practitioners
during a single visit to the Center and provides a comprehensive
approach to the treatment and management of a variety of health
conditions including acute and chronic pain of the back, neck and
joints; headaches, ear, nose and throat problems; sinus congestion and
rhinitis, as well as digestive and gynecological symptomology.
This method assists in facilitating a faster healing time by addressing
multiple facets of a health problem simultaneously. The practitioners
work collaboratively with each patient to design an appropriate
treatment plan.
Patients that have chosen this program have reported positive results
from the focused coordinated care.
